I wish I could be here right now.

Just bought some fleurs for my host mom today at the marché today! Last time ever going to the marché in Rennes!
It’s unbelievable how fast time flies. Last night on the Rue de la Soif. Last night going out with all of my best friends here. I don’t want it to end!
Attention: This will be somewhat emotional (for me anyway) and maybe kind of a drunk post. oops.
Well, it’s past 3 in the morning here in France and tonight was the 40th anniversary of my study abroad program here. We all dressed up and went to this fancy party at a very chic hotel and it was pretty nice and very interesting to meet other people’s host families and talk with them. Weird to think that it was one of the last times all of us would be together. Then after the party, illkissyoubetweentheears and I went out to dinner at a Lebanese restaurant (yesssss, my new favorite!) shared some wine, had some good conversation then, met up with our friends (american and french) on the Rue de la Soif and of course had a ton of fun there as well. Then I had to say goodbye to one of our french monitrices, Clémence. Tonight was the last time that I will probably ever see her…ever, in my life. The goodbye was too short. We then continued the night at our friend Pierre-Yves apartment and again I enjoyed some good company, conversation, drinks, and hookah. And then I again had to say goodbye to Pierre-Yves. Yet, there was just something about the whole night that was magical and at the same time foreshadowing the inevitable end to my time here in France. It was the first of many ‘goodbyes’ here, I don’t think I’m ready for them.

I went to the planetarium with my host mom today! We went to a program called “le ciel cette nuit” or “the sky tonight” which explained what we would be able to see if we went star-gazing tonight. Most of which I already knew but, it was really neat to learn the french words for certain space terminologies, the big/little dipper - la grande/petite ourse, the milkyway - la voie lactée, etc. It made me really excited for my astronomy class next semester.
